Where and when:
New groups start Jan/Feb 2008 in Cambridge, Histon and Cambourne.

They meet 5/6 times, fortnightly or monthly and are led by facilitators who have already completed a group themselves. There is also a special group for people who would like to be facilitators.

More Information

Workshop Programme
This autumn we also started our own programme of workshops on climate change, communication and connection. These are aimed at people volunteering with us, anyone who would like to get involved and anyone who is just interested.
  • Explore how to help people connect and act on carbon reduction
  • Understand the barriers both psychological and practical to taking action
  • Learn to deal with urban myths, truth and lies about climate change
  • Keep your own energy and enthusiasm intact.
The workshops will be practical and participative. They are free to all volunteers and prospective volunteers with a small charge for anyone else. They're a great opportunity to meet with others who are enthusiastic about acting on climate change. Akashi Festival
Anyone who came to the Akashi festival will know that it was a wonderful success – over 350 people enjoying an incredible afternoon of multi-cultural climate-change workshops and stalls. Dance, meditation, singing, cycling, face-painting, conversation circles, foot-printing, composting, food and more…

Thank you to project worker Shilpa Shah and everyone who took part and helped.

Pictures and a report should be up on the Akashi website shortly, as soon as those involved have recovered.

We received a grant from the Lottery Fund to put on the festival as culmination of the Akashi Project and to take the exhibition to other venues around the region.

Success for Energy Wizards
Over 500 pupils from 10 Cambridge primary schools contributed posters to the Energy Wizards Competition, and our judges, Anna Nilsen and Simon Chubb had great difficulty in selecting 50 for an exhibition in the Grafton Centre on June 8th and 9th.

poster by Natalie Blake of Newnham Croft School The winning school was Girton Glebe who walked away with the £1000 prize to spend on environmental initiatives. The winning poster was by Natalie Blake of Newnham Croft School and is illustrated here.

The prizes were donated by Al-Amin Store on Mill Road.

There were hundreds of brilliant posters and te 50 winners can be seen on our website.

The exhibition was part of Cambridge City Council's Sustainable City environment festival 2007.

Environment Award

Rosemary and Andy were presented the prize by Andy Brown, the chief exec. of Anglian Water.

Cambridge Carbon Footprint has won the Environment Group award of Cambridge Evening News Community Awards for the second year running.

The past year has been a whirlwind of Carbon Footprinting stalls, climate change talks, Carbon Challenge group meetings and other events.

We are thrilled that the hard work contributed by all our volunteers has been recognised.
